10 before 25.
I turn 25 in April. 25 isn’t old. Not even a little bit. It is kind of a milestone though, and I feel that it needs to be kicked off appropriately.
24 has been pretty good. I finally feel semi-settled into my life as an adult and am no longer tempted to be a professional student. (At least not most days. I really like school.)
That being said, there are a few things I’d like to cross off my to-do list before joining the quarter-century club. Some are simple, weekend projects that I’ve procrastinated; Others have a more long-term goal in mind. Either way, here they are. The 10 things I’d like to accomplish before I turn 25.
1. Learn to sew
2. Roast a chicken
I’d like to be the kind of person who has parties someday. Unfortunately, people like to eat at parties. Chicken is the first step to my future social life.
3. Read five books
4. Publish four articles
Doesn’t matter where, just write and pitch.
5. Perfect my granola
I’ve made four batches of terrible granola and two that were subpar at best. My boyfriend is a granola monster. We’ll both be jazzed about this one.
6. Get back into my yoga practice
7. Complete a mile-a-day challenge
After year of soccer and six half-marathons, my knees have threatened to succeed from my body. One mile per day for a month seems like a less strenuous, just as intimidating challenge.
8. Discover a new place on a road trip
9. Restore typewriters
I’ve got three typewriters collecting dust in my office. This is offensive.
10. Give back
I once spent a month in the jungle teaching the coolest kids on the planet. They made me better. Giving makes me better. Find a way to do that here.
Holy smokes. I better get busy.
